The jingle for the Mitsubishi Colt advert seems to make no sense:

<quote>
Oh Shep!
Oh Shep!

Could you put your foot on?
Could you feel that wedge?

Could you put your foot on,
Like you're off an edge?
<unquote>

Is it Japanese or simply common gibberish?

Sounds like the Shaggs. http://home.flash.net/~tomj/shaggs/

I saw a nadvert for the Citroen C5 t'other day which was extolling the white
line sensor fitted to the more zbarlous versions. They showed this bloke
driving one blindfold over a bridge with no parapet and at the bottom of the
screen I'm fairly sure it read "special test conditions". Which was plainly
obllocks because it was a CGI bridge.

I was thinking of writing to the ASA about that one. I don't like being
taken for stupid.

It's Ofcom you need to contact (as I have just done). The ASA only
deals with written adverts.

I noticed that, and thought "hmm, wonder where they found *that* bridge".

hardly factual, though. I don't doubt that they did the bindfold driving
with the white lines, an' all, but then modified the backdrop to be more
dramatic than a runway somewhere.

You're right but what got my goat is that they tell you it's "Controlled
Test Conditions" as though they expect you to be stupid enough to believe
it.

I have just written to them along those lines.
Bl**dy salesdroids.

Can one get treatment for that on the NHS?

Then there's the advert for the new(ish) Series 1 from Bayerischen
Misten Wagen, which shows a number of horses. Is this supposed to give
one an impression of its power and, if so, is it really only 24bhp?

That was precisely what was so special about the "test conditions"...

Even so, it's a wonder that the Health and Safety wallahs didn't insist
on a parapet and handrail being added in post-production or, at least, a
warning for children not to attempt that in their parents' car.
